About UPAASF

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of San Francisco, Inc. (UPAASF) was organized in July 1973 in Daly City, California. It serves as the conduit for organized activity of the Alumni in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Association has raised funds for 3 professorial chairs, the repair of the Carillon bells and the retooling of the Diliman Infirmary. It has hosted visiting UP professors and officials and sponsored several events, among them the 2007 UPAAA Centennial Convention.

The Association also leads community based activities among them:

a) Supporting Westbay Pilipino Multi-Service Center for its Su0026amp;T Mentoring Program

b) Conducting a Summer Cultural Immersion Camp for middle and high school FilAm students; the hope is that this would lead to the establishment of a Philippine Heritage and Leadership Learning Institute that aims to connect the Fil-Am youth with their heritage

c) With what happened with typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), we are working with the Filipino American Society of Architect u0026amp; Engineers (FASAE) in providing ideas and best practice seminars for site-specific disaster planning.
